Philip Lena, MD
Primary Care
Philip D. Lena, MD, is a board-certified Family Medicine physician committed to providing comprehensive primary care rooted in trust, compassion, and lasting patient relationships. Dr. Lena began his professional career as a mechanical engineer after earning his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. He later chose to pursue medicine, completing a post-baccalaureate program at Drexel University College of Medicine before earning his medical degree from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completing his Family Medicine residency at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, New Jersey.
Dr. Lena enjoys caring for patients across a wide range of medical concerns, with a focus on preventive care, healthy lifestyle counseling, chronic disease management, and evidence-based medicine. He believes exceptional healthcare begins with listening, ensuring patients feel heard and respected, and partnering with them to make informed decisions that support lifelong health.
Inspired by his faith, family, and the physicians who cared for those he loves, Dr. Lena chose Family Medicine because it allows him to care for the whole person, not just the disease. He considers it a privilege to guide patients through every stage of their health journey and strives to provide the same compassion, trust, and dedication that first inspired him to pursue medicine.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Lena enjoys spending time with his family, staying active through fitness and basketball, traveling, watching movies, and reading comic books.
